Weil by Nature's Path Pure Fruit & Nut Bars
Andrew Weil, M.D.
Nature's Path
Want to know the secret of women on the go? Two words: Nutrition Bars. And now, there's a new one in town. North America's #1 organic cereal manufacturer, the Canadian based Nature's Path and Andrew Weil, M.D. (one of my favorite health and nutrition gurus because he's a botanist like me) have teamed up to create Weil by Nature's Path Pure Fruit & Nut Bars.
Not only is this nutrition bar compact (anything that fits in the pocket of my jeans or the mommy bag works for me!), but it is a tasty combination of organic ingredients that include bananas, dates, coconut, goji berries, raspberries, natural cocoa, and several kinds of nuts. The Weil by Nature's Path Pure Fruit & Nut Bars are also vegan, wheat-free, and contain no GMOs or genetically modified organisms.
I tried all five flavors, the Goji Moji
(goji berries and cranberries), Chocolada Walnut
bars, Chia Razz
, made with raspberries, chia, and cashews, the
Pistachi-oh!
, and Banana Manna
.
All of the bars were chewy and moist with a slightly nutty flavor and naturally sweet, but my two favorites by far were the Pistachi-oh!
, and Chocolada Walnut
.
Each 1.6-ounce bar contains between 2 and 4 g. (grams) of protein and 4 to 5 g. of dietary fiber with no added sugars. The grams of total fat varies by bar from 3.5 g. in the Chia Razz to 10 g. in the Chocolada Walnut (go figure!). That may seem like a lot but it doesn't concern me one bit because I know that they are "good" fats--the fats found in nuts and other foods like avocados and olives. Weil by Nature's Path Pure Fruit & Nut Bars are sold individually or in handy packs of 16 bars per pack.
