Sugar Scrub Recipes for Feet and Hands

As a new mom of twins or triplets (or even a singleton) you probably feel like the star of Groundhog Day or the Dunkin' Donuts commercial where the baker staggers to the kitchen and says, "Time to make the donuts". If so, try these quick do it yourself spa treatments.
Peppermint Foot Soak
Being on your feet all day chasing after your twins or triplets can be tough. At the end of the day there's nothing more relaxing before bed than a foot soak followed by an exfoliating scrub and foot massage.
Steep herbs in water for 1 hour, then pour into a large bowl of hot water. Add Epsom salts. Soak for 15 minutes. Sage or lemon balm can also be substituted for peppermint.
- 2 ounces chopped fresh peppermint
- 4 cups boiling water
- 2 tablespoon Epsom salts
- 3 to 4 drops of lavender essential oil
Geranium Hand Softener
All moms wash their hands a lot, especially in winter and they can become dry, chapped and red. This hand softener is a great way to pamper your hands whenever you need a soothing pick me up. Lavender or ylang ylang essential oils can be substituted for geranium (all are good for calming and soothing).
Mix ingredients together in a small bowl and massage into hands. Or, warm olive oil in a microwave safe bowl. Stir to make sure temperature is uniform. It should be warm but not hot. Remove and stir in sugar and essential oil. Always test the temperature before using. Massage into hands.
- 3 tablespoons almond or olive oil
- 1 teaspoon white cane sugar
- 1 drop geranium essential oil
